On Sudan

How are we not in Darfur yet? The actions of the Sudanese government are criminal and yet we have yet to do a thing about it. If Clinton were in office, something tells me he would have launched a strategic missle stirke or two already. Read the latest news and maybe you can tell me why we are turning a blind eye to this government.

I agree. I believe the reason we are not strongly involved in darfur has to do with the fact that it does not fit into the currernt administrations political agenda. The administration chooses to get involved in Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, because they best demonstrate the world that this administration would like us to believe exist outside of our borders.

I think it is a little more complicated than that. First of all, the fact that we are tied up in Iraq makes in impossible for us to lead a force into Darfur. And along with that, the rest of the international community has no desire to get involved either.

The truth is, this country has a poor history of getting involved to stop genocides. Bush has done more for Darfur than Clinton did for Rwanda.
